Bonhams is hosting its first sale dedicated to Chanel with its ‘The Chanel Collection: Online Auction’, running from 5th to 16th February.
As the name suggests, the sale is dedicated to the luxury French fashion house, offering more than 200 pieces, ranging from clothing and accessories to handbags and jewellery. Many of the lots are offered from an extensive single-owner collection which form the centrepiece of the auction.

“Despite being over 100 years old, Chanel remains one of the world’s most desirable luxury brands. One of the reasons of its enduring popularity is that many of Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel’s original designs continue to inspire current Chanel collections.”

Among the fashion to be offered are more than 90 items of Chanel clothing from the classic tweed suits and jackets to dresses and jeans, all dating from 2010 onwards.
Many pieces are from ‘ready to wear’ runway shows, including the celebrated Supermarket, Dubai and Cuba Collections. A good number of items are offered with their original tags and labels, with many pieces unworn.
Highlights include a White Fleece Cropped Jacket, Chanel, Cruise 2012 (estimate £400-600) and Ensemble Gold Blouse and Black Leather Mosiac Skirt, Chanel, Pre-Fall 2011 Byzantium Collection (estimate £400-600).
The sale also features 19 Chanel handbags, which range from the classic flap shoulder bags to a Graffiti messenger bag.
