Mayfair Art HOP!

Mayfair Art Weekend | Friday 2 – Sunday 4 October 2020

Mayfair Art Weekend, the annual celebration of the world’s internationally renowned gallery district, will take place this weekend,  Friday 2 – Sunday 4 October 2020.

Open to art devotees, artists and collectors, this year’s Mayfair Art Weekend launches with the celebrated Gallery HOP! on the opening night, when participating galleries stay open until 8pm.

The new and extended programme of events throughout October include the inaugural Mayfair Sculpture Trail, May Fair Showreel and Mayfair Gallery Publication Award.

Since 2014 independent galleries across Mayfair have united for Mayfair Art Weekend, presenting an unrivalled opportunity for art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in London’s vibrant hub of creativity and craftsmanship.  It offers an opportunity to engage with the international, diverse offering of free exhibitions and events available throughout the area, where the worlds of art, fashion and luxury converge.

This year, Mayfair Art Weekend, in partnership with Art in Mayfair, will connect Oxford Street to Piccadilly and Regent Street to Park Lane, with Mayfair galleries placing art on the streets for the Mayfair Sculpture Trail. Visitors will be led through the Burlington Arcade, Cork Street, Bond Street, Berkeley Square and Grosvenor Square. The trail will take place from 1 – 31 October, coinciding with the opening of the Royal Academy of Arts’ Summer Exhibition.

Visitors will also have the chance to see an international selection of artists’ moving image artworks at the screening of the curated May FairShowreel on Sunday 4 October, at the May Fair Theatre. The inaugural Mayfair Gallery Publication Award, which emphasises the important contributions made by Mayfair’s galleries to art research and the art world’s book trade, will be announced on 31 October.

Prestigious galleries to visit on the HOP! Include  Annely Juda, , Galleria Lorcan O’Neill, Gagosian Davies Street, Hauser & Wirth , Richard Saltoun , Waddington Custot and Chris Contini Contemporary.
