Steve Smith FRSA


Steve’s broking career began at Sedgwicks where he placed International Property and Construction risk in the Lloyds and Company markets. He went on to build a strong reputation in the Private Client and Fine Arts market where he broked for historic houses, art and antiques dealers, private and corporate art collections and Fine Art Auctioneers.

Taking this wealth of experience, Steve formed Smith Ross Shane & Company Limited in 1996, to create a successful and well respected private client and corporate brokerage business. In 2007 Smith merged the business with that of Giles Greenfield, to form Smith Greenfield Services Plc. The business continues to flourish under Smith who has overseen significant investment in developing new High Net Worth insurance solutions and staff development.

Mandy Smith

Finance Director

Mandy joined Smith Greenfield, then Smith Ross Shane & Company Ltd, in 1999 as Finance Director. Responsible for the financial performance of the company, she has been key to the stable growth enjoyed by Smith Greenfield.

Mandy’s banking and finance career started in 1983 at Capital Assets, part of Rothschilds Banking. Here she gained a wealth of experience in new business and management accounting and left as an Associate Director in 1999.

Matthew Martin

Head of Operations

Matt has been with the company since 2002. As Head of Operations, he ensures the seamless delivery of Smith Greenfield’s insurance services to all clients and broker network. His role encompasses FCA compliance, Market and Business Intelligence analysis, technology, HR, company process and procedures and quality assurance.

Matt commenced his insurance career in 1989 at the Prudential as a field agent in life assurance, pensions, home and motor insurance. He went on to spend time with London Life, Boncaster and Needham Jobson & Company where he specialised in Private Client, Antique Dealer, Auctioneer and Fine Art Collection insurance.
